The daughter of an immigrant family, Heidi Nickel grew up in Mt. Lehman on a small farm. Her formal education began in a small one room country school: jubilee School. Once she grasped reading English books were devoured. They became her friends, entertainment, travel to exotic lands, and gratified her love of learning. She began following Jesus at 9 years of age.
Thirty-two years ago, she married her best friend, Steven, and together they raised 5 children; first homeschooling them befor expanding the teaching team to include Cornerstone.
Heidi began her time with CCS as a volunteer. When volunteer work in the library opened up she jumpet at the opportunity to learn how to share her love of books and learning with the children she so loves.
Heidi enjoys travelling: Germany, Korea, USA, and various parts of Canada have been visited; hiking, cooking, gardening, mechanics, making music and listening, puzzles, knitting, crocheting, etc.
A few of my favourite things: Snacks: taquitos, gummy bears, Real Fruit, Brookside Dark Chocolate, 7-Up, Sprite, Gingerale. Hobbies: knitting, crocheting, gardening, Tim Hortons. Movies: Yes; Candles: Yes, Lotions: No
