Ms. Jan Fung has been a teacher for 30+ years, working in a variety of capacities with students and parents. Ms. Fung began her career in the primary grades, specializing in kindergarten and grade one. She transitioned to homeschooling when the time arrived to put her first child into school and she realized she was fully equipped to do this job herself. Ms. Fung proceeded to homeschool her children, guiding two of the four all the way through to graduation. Upon returning to her career, she moved into a supporting role for other homeschooling families, working with students from kindergarten through grade nine with excellent results. She taught various face-to-face classes during this time, exploring primary and intermediate writing workshops, and directing the humanities program for grades seven through nine. She ran community classes for kindergarten and grade one students. She started at Cornerstone Christian School teaching grade seven in 2017 and as of 2024, has returned to her roots reaching in primary.
Ms. Fung is an avid reader, a lifelong learner, and a devoted follower of Jesus. She enjoys spending time with God in creation, kayaking, taking gentle walks in the woods, sitting by the ocean with a delicious cup of coffee, praying and soaking in worship, and studying theology. Ms. Fung revels in family time, and has recently become a grandma.
Some of her favorite things: family time, kayaking, dinner out with friends, coffee, tea, books, trying new foods, flowers, mint, lavender, and gift cards.
