Vanessa Matty

Vanessa Matty grew up on a dairy farm in Abbotsford before attending the University of Victoria. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Education and Minor in Math in 2008, she began working for the Abbotsford school district teaching grades 9-12 Math, Visual arts and Photography at Abbotsford School of Integrated Arts Secondary. 

Vanessa and her husband, Andrew have 5 children that all attend Cornerstone Christian School. In 2020, while on leave with the Abbotsford School District, she started working as a substitute teacher for Cornerstone and in 2023, she started to job share Grade 9 with Mrs. Mounsef. 

Aside from work, Vanessa loves playing cards and board games with friends and familly. She also spends her extra time curled up with a book, going for a run or painting on a canvas.
